| SHC Directs the Creation of A Jit to Investigates Minor Girls Trafficking |
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered the creation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the trafficking of juvenile girls in Karachi, according to Pakistan Digital News.
According to details, the SHC directed the interior department to assemble a JIT to investigate the trafficking of juvenile females.
The court called SSP city and Federal Inquiry Authority (FIA) officials to a hearing and ordered the FIA to begin an investigation into human trafficking.
Muskaan, a 14-year-old girl, was kidnapped and apparently sold three times to smugglers, according to Justice Salahuddin Panhwar.
Justice Salahuddin made the surprising disclosure that the juvenile females are allegedly brought into Oman.
The court further stated that while the brave girl managed to escape, 14 or 15 other girls were still in the smuggler's custody.
Furthermore, the court directed that the relevant agencies take this case seriously and arrest the traffickers.
Previously, the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Cell in Lahore apprehended the most sought offender on the FIA's Red Book.
Kashif Rafique, the declared criminal, was wanted in eight incidents of human trafficking. The suspect made millions of rupees by illegally transferring individuals to Australia.
